The $1800 artwork delves into the stark realities of a nation entrenched in conflict for as long as memory serves. Its symbolism lies in the juxtaposition of a grenade and an egg, drawing a poignant parallel to Colombia’s pervasive exposure to violence, akin to the ubiquitous consumption of eggs in daily meals.

War permeates Colombian society, woven into the fabric of everyday conversations; even family dinners often revolve around tales of conflict, particularly given my parents’ military background. This normalization of warfare underscores the profound impact it has had on our collective consciousness, shaping our perspectives and experiences in profound ways.

Through this artwork, I seek to shed light on the enduring scars of conflict while sparking dialogue about the societal costs of violence and the resilience of those who endure its repercussions.
